ConServe Completes SSAE 18/SOC 1 Type II Engagement

Raising the Bar for the Industry’s Standard

Rochester, N.Y.- Continental Service Group, Inc., d/b/a ConServe, is pleased to announce that they have engaged Macpage, LLC to prepare an Independent Service Auditor’s Report in accordance with Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagement No. 18, Reporting on Controls of a Service Organization (SSAE 18), also known as a Service Organizations Control No.1 (SOC 1).  An SSAE 18/SOC 1 Type II report is an attestation standard that examines a service organization’s system and the suitability of the design and operating effectiveness of controls (when applicable) throughout a twelve month period.  SSAE 18 is an enhancement to the previous standard for Reporting on Controls at a Service Organization, the SSAE16, and has effectively replaced it as the authoritative reporting guideline. The goal of the change was to increase the usefulness and quality of SOC reports.  The most important modifications to the enhanced reporting standard are the identification of classification of risk and appropriate management of third party vendor relationships.

Most notably, Macpage has reported that ConServe’s service and process controls have been suitably designed to achieve the control objectives and were consistently applied throughout the evaluation period of September 1, 2016 through August 31, 2017. The SSAE 18/SOC 1 TYPE ll report evaluates controls at a service organization that are relevant to the security, availability, and processing integrity of that service organization’s system. In addition, the report also evaluates the confidentiality of the information and the privacy of personal information that the service organization’s system controls.

“As ConServe continues to prioritize Client satisfaction, we strive to exceed our Client’s service and performance expectations” said Stephan DiPaola, CIO at ConServe. ConServe’s SSAE 18 SOC 1 TYPE II attestation is a testament to ConServe’s Values which include “ethics and compliance drive all our activities and all our work demonstrates character integrity and respect” and “Client satisfaction is our top priority.”   “We pride ourselves on establishing the industry standard with regard to process improvements, technology enhancements, risk management, vendor relationships and reporting. Our commitment to ethics and compliance is readily apparent as a result of conducting the SSAE 18 SOC 1 Type II engagement – demonstrating ConServe’s pledge to maintain the highest standards possible. This substantiation, a key component of The ConServe Advantage®®, reinforces our ability to provide our Clients and consumers with unparalleled customer service.”
