ConServe Sponsors Make-A-Wish Trip to Disney World

ConServe Employees Support Families Affected by Cancer

Rochester, N.Y. – ConServe President Mark Davitt and his family, along with ConServe employees, sponsored a Make-A-Wish trip to Disney World for 16 year old Tiara and her family in July.

Make-A-Wish grants the wish of children diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition in the United States and its territories, on average, every 38 minutes. The Western New York chapter grants over 150 wishes a year to children in the area.

"There are children waiting for their wish to be granted and donations from local corporations, like ConServe, support our commitment to granting wishes at the highest level of excellence," said Mary Jones, Regional Director of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Western New York.  "We are filled with gratitude to have many years of support from Mark, and the whole ConServe family, who consistently and generously give their time, dollars and resources towards helping make wishes come true for the kids in our community."

ConServe CFO Rich Klein met Tiara and her mother before they left for Florida. "Meeting Tiara was an honor, and a great way to start the day. Her smile was from ear to ear the entire time we were with her. It is inspiring to me to be a part of a company that is so committed to giving back to our community."

Tiara chose Disney World for the rides, to see the castle, and to experience the magic with her family. A trip of firsts, the flight to Orlando, FL was also Tiara's first time on an airplane. Tiara is a fan of turtles, Christina Aguilera, reading, writing, singing and pottery and is excited to begin her senior year of high school.

About Make-A-Wish:

Make-A-Wish grants the wish of a child diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition in the United States and its territories, on average, every 38 minutes. The organization is guided by the belief that a wish experience can be a game-changer for a child with a life-threatening medical condition. The Make-A-Wish mission is to: "grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy." Wishes impact everyone involved – wish kids, volunteers, donors, sponsors, medical professionals and communities. The impact varies. For wish kids, just the act of making their wish come true can give them the courage to comply with their medical treatments. Parents might finally feel like they can be optimistic. And still others might realize all they have to offer the world through volunteer work or philanthropy.
