Jeans For Charity Program Funds Used to Promote Wellness Initiatives

Rochester, N.Y. – The team of employees from Continental Service Group, Inc., dba ConServe,  directed the June proceeds from their ongoing Jeans For Charity donation program to varied local organizations that focus on empowering and enhancing people's lives. The June program recipients were the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Buffalo & Erie County and the Mental Health Association of Rochester - two organizations that promote wellness through services and help individuals find resources to achieve and maintain mental wellness, Upstate New York Transplant Services (unyts) - an organization that aims to save and enhance lives through organ, eye, tissue and blood donation, and Junior Achievement (JA) - an organization that promotes work readiness, entrepreneurialism and strengthens financial skills.

Through the company's Jeans For Charity program, in which ConServe employees can elect to participate in monthly charitable donations in exchange for the option of wearing jeans to work, employees are provided with the opportunity to "give back" to their local communities by donating to a diverse group of organizations throughout the year.  Additionally, the funds raised by the employees' generosity is supplemented by the organization's "Matching Gift Program."  This ongoing initiative symbolizes ConServe's commitment to its corporate mission of helping to improve the human condition.

Stacy Bartl, ConServe's Public Relations Director, adds that ConServe's employees take pride in their pledge to give back to their communities on a regular basis.  "Our team members are actively involved in their local neighborhoods:  they work here, they live here and raise their children here.  They are inspired to know they are helping people just like themselves overcome challenges while simultaneously obtaining life-changing guidance and services."

About National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)

NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, is the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. What started as a small group of families gathered around a kitchen table in 1979 has blossomed into the nation's leading voice on mental health. Today, we are an association of hundreds of local affiliates, state organizations and volunteers who work in your community to raise awareness and provide support and education that was not previously available to those in need.

About Mental Health Association of Rochester

The Mental Health Association promotes lasting mental wellness in the Rochester community through a diverse spectrum of educational programming, service referrals, and individual assistance to those seeking to find—and maintain—wellness. Their services are available to anyone who needs them: no referral, diagnosis, or insurance necessary.

About Upstate New York Transplant Services (unyts)

Our commitment is to enhance and save lives through organ, eye, tissue and blood donation while maintaining respect for those who give the Gift of Life. Unyts, with an on-going tradition of excellence, strives to be the recognized leader in the multi-faceted delivery of exceptional, donor centered organ, tissue, eye and blood donation services to the Western New York community. We will succeed in this endeavor by joining cooperatively with our partners – community resources, donor hospitals, donors, recipients and their families to advance the dynamic Donate Life message.

About Junior Achievement

Junior Achievement is a global non-profit organization that prepares and inspires students to succeed in a global economy by offering in-school and after-school programs in financial literacy, workforce readiness and entrepreneurship.

JA programs start in Kindergarten and are available for all grade levels through high school. Each lesson contains hands-on activities that align with New York State learning standards while encouraging innovation, creativity and critical thinking. JA programs are independently evaluated and are taught by a community volunteer who brings real life examples of success into the classroom and makes everyday lessons in math, social studies and English/language arts relevant to the real world.

The result is a unique learning opportunity for our kids and a future generation of engaged consumers, qualified employees and leaders who will drive the economic growth of our community.
