Helping the Homeless in Western New York

ConServe Employees Donate to the Buffalo City Mission and Rochester Open Door Mission

Rochester, N.Y. – In December, ConServe employees, along with the company's "Matching Gift Program," donated a combined contribution of $10,260 to the Buffalo City Mission and Rochester's Open Door Mission. Employees raised the money through their "Jeans for Charity" program, in which employees can donate money in exchange for the option to wear jeans to work for the entire month.

Both charities support impoverished men, women and children while simultaneously providing them with hope and growth opportunities. ConServe's donation helped to provide meals for the homeless throughout the holiday season.

"We want to extend our greatest thanks to the generous employees and President Mark Davitt of ConServe for their donation of more than $5,000 to the Buffalo City Mission from the success of the company's 'Jeans for Charity' program," said Buffalo City Mission Executive Director Stuart L. Harper. "It is especially heartwarming to work with a company that is not only committed to the community in which they live, but also to the neighbors in that community who are suffering. It's companies like ConServe that personify the City of Good Neighbors title that Buffalo enjoys, and we are grateful to them."

"The holidays are an especially hard time of year for our community's most vulnerable: the homeless members of our society" said ConServe Vice President of Human Resources, George Huyler. "As part of our corporate mission at ConServe, we are committed to supporting philanthropic causes that are aimed at improving the human condition. ConServe prides itself on doing the right thing, at the right time, the right way."
